dear god, was my last Blog Post really in 2023????????
i guess this can be considered a relaunch?
i kinda feel directionless and scared right now. might as well do something.
I intend on this project being my last one developed with Unity; I intend on using a different engine for future projects after this one is finished (likely Godot / C#, we’ll see).
I’m a bit worried about the appeal for a game like this (On-Rail shooters are already a niche of their own, as are Touhou fangames; combining the two seems like a risky bet), but I think theres potential for something here; while execution on the original jam version was a bit iffy to say the least (sorry to the people who got motion sick because of me), the entry still ended up ranking high in the ‘Concept’ category.
I have some loose plans for an Action-Platformer / JRPG that’d I’d eventually like to undertake. I don’t plan on starting development quite yet though; the earliest I can imagine development starting is once I publish Wind God Paper Girl. Doesn’t mean I haven’t been drafting out plot and world-building details. I guess you could kinda call this my dream game? I’ve always wanted to make something similar to Cave Story and the Mother series; I know thats probably as cliche as you can get for an indie dev though.
